DBT-Based Services

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment designed to help people who experience intense emotions, difficulty managing stress, impulsive behaviors, or challenges in their relationships. These struggles can make daily life feel overwhelming and affect a person’s ability to live the life they want.

DBT teaches practical skills that can help you better understand and manage your emotions, cope with difficult situations, communicate more effectively with others, and stay present in the moment. The goal is to help you build a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling.

In this program, you will work with a trained team through both individual and class sessions. Together, you will learn and practice skills in four key areas:

  • Mindfulness – staying present and aware in the current moment
  • Emotion Regulation – understanding and managing strong emotions
  • Distress Tolerance – coping with difficult situations in healthy ways
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness – building and maintaining healthy relationships

Regular attendance is an important part of the program and is required for participation. Consistent attendance at both individual and group sessions allows you to build and practice new skills, track your progress, and allow your therapist to support you as you develop these skills and apply them to everyday challenges, helping you increase confidence, resilience, and overall well-being.

CBT- Based Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, evidence-based approach that helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. CBT focuses on building on your strengths and developing skills that can help you manage life’s challenges more effectively.

In this program, you will meet weekly with a trained therapist who will support you in working toward your personal goals. Together, you will explore patterns of thinking and behavior, learn new coping strategies, and develop tools to help improve your emotional well-being and overall quality of life.

The program is goal-oriented and designed to support growth in areas that are important to you, including mental, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being. Your therapist will partner with you to identify meaningful goals, build practical skills, and address thoughts or emotions that may be causing distress.

Regular attendance is an important and required part of the program. Through weekly sessions, you and your therapist will work together to track progress, strengthen healthy coping skills, and support your continued growth and well-being.

Case Management is available to individuals who are currently engaged in services with an HHCI therapist. When a client is connected with Case Management, they are paired with a dedicated case manager who works with them to identify goals, navigate resources, and build a personalized plan for long-term support.

Using a collaborative, team-based approach, case managers partner with clients, their families, therapists, and community organizations to help connect them with services and resources that fit their unique needs. Our goal is to help clients build a strong support network and access the tools they need to thrive both during and beyond their time in therapy.
