Mental Health Care Planning
At the HHCI, we recognize that mental illness affects the entire family, not simply the individual. The aim of our professional team is to support the families of a loved one who struggles with a mental illness. Our goal is to assist them in finding ways to best help their loved one as well as themselves through the mental health care journey.
Through Mental Health Care Planning, a team member will meet with the family to help clarify the nature of their loved one’s mental health concerns, symptoms or diagnosis. These sessions also provide guidance in empowering and effective communication strategies to help families build healthy relationships. Other common concerns discussed in care planning are treatment options, steps to accessing the mental health care system, mental health warrants, guardianship, and supportive services offered at HHCI and in the community for the individual and family.
