ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Andy Achenbaum, PhD
Andy Achenbaum held joint appointments in history and gerontology from 1980 to 2017 at Carnegie Mellon University, The University of Michigan, and the University of Houston. His own spiritual journey began in a health crisis at age 40. Even before retiring, he was given an office at the Institute for Spirituality and Health, where he has increasing focused on how mentoring and listening to fellow pilgrims on the spiritual dimensions of aging elicit contemplation, generosity, and forgiveness action enriched with purposeful meaning.
