Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) is an evidenced based treatment that is effective for disorders of overcontrol, such as treatment resistant depression, anorexia, chronic anxiety, avoidant personality disorder, and OCPD. This presentation will provide a brief introduction to the theoretical basis and the structure of the treatment.

Karyn Hall, PhD, Licensed Psychologist, DBT Linehan Board of Certification Certified Clinician, Certified Coach, Certified PE Therapist and Approved RO DBT Supervisor/Trainer

Dr. Hall has been in private practice for over twenty years and is the founder and Director of The DBT Center in Houston, Texas. She is the second person in the US to be an approved supervisor in RO DBT and is a certified DBT clinician through the Linehan Board of Certification. She has served as a speaker/trainer on a national level and is a DBT trainer with Treatment Implementation Collaborative.  She is also an international trainer for RO DBT. She blogs for Psychology Today and PsychCentral, is co-author of The Power of Validation and author of SAVVY, Mindfulness Exercises and The Emotionally Sensitive Person. She is currently writing an RO DBT workbook for eating disorders and a family manual for RO DBT.

The Center offers both standard and intensive DBT treatment, Radically Open DBT, Prolonged Exposure Therapy and coaching. She focuses on training and supervision, and works with treatment resistant depression, chronic anxiety, trauma, suicidality, self-injury, eating disorders and borderline personality disorder.
