Message from CEO
Dear Friends,
As the COVID-19 updates continuously evolve, I wanted to reach out and share with you ways the Hope and Healing Center & Institute is serving the community remotely as well as other resources that may be beneficial to you or your loved ones. Our campus will remain closed through Thursday, April 30, 2020; however, the HHCI staff is actively working remote to continue serving clients and sharing resources and information as it pertains to how we can manage our mental health (anxiety, stress, and more) during an unprecedented time of unknowns and isolation. You may also follow the HHCI Facebook page for the most current updates.
My wish is that we can offer you all hope during this difficult time. As you may already know, all of our individual services and trainings are provided free of charge. We know this will be a difficult year, but if you are able to continue supporting us financially during these tough times we would be grateful for your support. We send our thoughts, prayers, and well wishes to you and your family during this time.
If you have any questions, or looking for further resources, please call us and leave a message at 713-871-1004 Ext. 570. If you are having an emergency, please call 911.
Stay healthy,
Matt Stanford, Ph.D.

Ways HHCI Continues Serving
The Hope and Healing Center & Institute’s staff is able to continue service using these remote methods:
We’re providing a series of four videos dealing with aspects of mental health and responding to the current COVID-19 situation. You can access or share them by clicking here or the link below. Videos were created by Katy Manning, Mental Health Coach Intern at the HHCI.
Programs
Every other day information on how to maintain good mental health during the pandemic is being posted to the HHCI Twitter and Facebook pages. These include articles, stories, and short videos. We are also considering offering some upcoming programs online.
All clinical services including Mental Health Coaching, Case Management, Tele-Psychiatry continue to be offered via phone for our current individual clients.
Our clinical team is manning the Mental and Behavioral Health Referral Line (713-871-1004, x570) daily and continue to provide mental health referral and support to callers Monday through Friday.
Unfortunately, all support group meetings have been canceled during this time. We will be sending an informational sheet soon to support group participants with links to support groups that are available online.
We are developing social media and email campaigns for online trauma group training, online mental health support group training, and self-care for faith community leaders and teams.
We are working to enhance our current online offerings by creating an online version of the EMPOWER training with video and online materials, as well as completing the Spanish language website and materials.
Community Bioethics and Aging Center (CBAC)
Dr. Peggy Determeyer is offering bioethics and aging consultation via phone, providing some community education programs, launching Savvy Caregiver offered in partnership with The Amazing Place as an online interactive program, and providing professional education on ethics issues.
